Global Health Elective

Our Global Health Elective provides learners a 4-6 week rotation in Kenya in rural (Bware and Migori).   Learners participate in a wide variety of medical experiences, from local primary care clinics to hospitals, both public and private.  They  also participate in ongoing community development  and education projects of ROHF in  Bware. Each rotation begins with an in country orientation which includes an overview of the Kenya medical system, volunteer safety, Kiswahili lessons, a primer on tropical medicine and a cultural orientation. In addition students have the opportunity to visit our primary health clinic   and visit with our community outreach program in the slum of Kawangware.
